How to remove lice from dreadlocks?

Created on during Dreadlocks Q&A

I got lice in my dreadlocks, do I have to cut them off?

No, you do not need it at all! If you are unlucky and have lice in your dreadlocks, do not despair and cut them off. There are some methods that are useful in dreadlocks, which for good reasons can not be combed.

Lice in dreadlocks have nothing to do with lack of hygiene!

Have you got lice in your dreadlocks? It's nothing to be ashamed of it has nothing to do with being dirty !. The lice had probably gotten into your hair whether you had dreadlocks or not, and you might as well have gotten the lice without dreadlocks.

However, it is more annoying to get lice when you have dreadlocks because you can not comb, and small eggs may hide from the lice in your scalp.

Prevention against lice in dreadlocks

You can prevent lice with teatree oil in, for example, a spray bottle of water or add a few drops in your cooling spray and distribute it on the scalp. Not only does it prevent lice, it also helps the scalp against itching and possibly dandruff. The easiest way, however, is to buy a RAW ROOTs Creeps Tunture, which is a lice cure that you can use once you have got lice, and to prevent lice in dreadlocks. If there are lice in circulation, use the product a few times a week. If not, it is a good idea to use it approx. once a week. It's easy and you just need a few individual pumps in your hair.

If you have lice, there are a few things you can do to get rid of them.

1. The easiest solution is to use Raw Roots Creeps Tincture Lice Cure which you will find here in the webshop. It is easily distributed in the hair and does not need to be rinsed out. This is repeated after 5 days and the lice are dead. This is a natural product so you do not leave chemicals or residue in the hair.

2. Make a mixture of apple cider vinegar (undiluted) and rinse with teatree oil and wash your hair at least every 3 days.

3. Then there are the methods of oil and coconut milk, where you wrap your hair in coconut milk or oil, a bag comes around and sleeps with it overnight. This method must be repeated when the eggs hatch. This can be a little difficult to get washed out of his dreadlocks after treatment.

I am 6 yrs in my journey. I previously avoided 3 sperate infestations. Well the bigger finally got me I\'ve had it for going on 2 months now and have already frantically and sobbingly cut 5 or 6 of my dreads.😞 I have been homeless for quite sometime and only just recently was given the opportunity to start my life again through the salvation army and this rapid rehousing movement. Any way it\'s only a short lived deal but I\'m currently seeking employment. And need some miracle to help me. Continue on the right path and avoid backsliding. My question is is there any possibility I could get a, let\'s see, get out of jail free (infestations) box of treatment. Let\'s say on the house. I would be forever grateful and always thankful Thank you for your time and consideration and consideration my name is Daniel. ~°*Mu¢h Lo✓€°*~
